What if I Leave Baxi?

Don’t worry, your benefits are still yours to take however you wish. The only difference now is that you and Baxi no longer contribute monthly to your Retirement Account – your money can still stay invested and earn investment returns.

We strongly encourage you to read the member booklet. This sets out the provisions that are applicable to you after you leave, such as death benefits after you leave and the options available when you retire. The booklet can be found here.

If you leave the Scheme within the first 30 days of membership, you are usually treated as if you never joined the Scheme in the first place. Any contributions you have made in this period will be paid back to you (less tax and National Insurance contributions, where applicable).

If you leave the Scheme after 30 days, you will become a deferred member.

As a deferred member, you have two options. You can:

Leave your Retirement Account in the Baxi Group Pension Scheme (BGPS) until you
retire

  • we will keep it invested until you retire
  • you can still make changes to your investments and amend your preferred retirement age
  • you can learn about your investment options and change your investments by clicking here or you can contact your Pensions Administrator – the details are here
  • you can still use the member portal here – www.mybaxipension.co.uk
  • your options on retirement are as set out in the retirement section

Transfer your benefits to another pension arrangement

  • you have complete freedom to transfer your Retirement Account to another pension arrangement, up until retirement if you wish
  • please note that if you do this you will cease to be entitled to any benefits from the BGPS
  • please contact the Pensions Administrator if you are interested in this option
